Objectives
Showcasing a representative group of Polytechnic Institutes based in different Portuguese medium-sized cities, this seminar, organized by the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, aims to:

Identify international benchmarks in the reorganization of higher education networks, which may contribute to the definition of a theoretical reference model to the Portuguese Polytechnics.

Contribute to disseminate the role of polytechnic institutions as promoters of innovation and of socioeconomic development in inland and peripheral regions.

Identify examples of how polytechnic higher education, together with other development agents in medium-sized cities, can propel new socioeconomic dynamics.
- Reflect upon the funding model for higher education, and the cost-benefit of polytechnic higher education established in medium-sized cities.
